SHOCK IN ASTROS - Father (& Mother) Kill Son And Then Set Body On Fire!

Press reports on Monday reveal that a 75-year-old man confessed on Sunday to shooting his 39-year-old son dead and then setting his body on fire in a car in Astros Kynourias (in the Peloponnese). And if that wasn't enough, the father was actually assisted by the young man's mother and several of their relatives!

The reports state that based on a preliminary investigation, the crime involved the victim's mother (67), his uncle on his father's side (71), his aunt (70) and his brother-in-law (53).

A dispatch from the state news agency noted that the father described the crime in detail to authorities and attributed the murder to various family differences.

According to him, on August 15, (Panagias) and following a heated argument at the family home in Astros, the father shot his son three times. He was then assisted by his brother (the uncle) in placing the corpse in the back seat of his car, removing the licence plates, and dropping the car in a dry river bed in a deserted area before setting the car on fire.

The two men were picked up by the victim's brother-in-law and taken to the house, where the victim's mother and his aunt were cleaning the courtyard of any evidence.

All of them were included in the criminal file.

Police found the gun, a spent cartridge and clothes with bloodstains. The licence plates had been buried in the garden.

All family members were led before the Nafplio prosecutor, the father on charges of murder, arson, perjury and violation of gun laws.

And as gruelling and tragic as this crime is, the father has shown no signs of remorse for killing his son. According to the Espresso newspaper, when the 75-year-old was informed of his son’s death by authorities he was totally unmoved and instead went to a local cafe to see his friends! On the other hand, the mother and the three other relatives who also aided in the crime expressed deep regret for their participation.
